Welcome to Congress Avenue Ventures Syndicate

Join Alumni Ventures’ Wesley Yiu and the Congress Avenue Ventures team for a welcome webinar designed for new members of the Congress Avenue Syndicate — an inside look at how the syndicate works, what to expect from our UT Austin-connected deal flow, and how to make the most of your access.

In this welcome session, Wesley and the team will walk through what it means to be part of the Congress Avenue Syndicate — how deals are sourced across the UT Austin alumni ecosystem, what the diligence and evaluation process looks like, and how members see, review, and optionally invest in each opportunity deal by deal. The team will share what typical syndicate deal flow looks like, how to read a deal memo, and what makes the Longhorn network a durable source of venture-quality companies.

Whether you’re new to venture investing, new to the Congress Avenue community, or exploring how syndicate access fits alongside broader Alumni Ventures products, this session will give you a clear, practical foundation for your syndicate experience. Register to meet the team, learn the process, and bring your questions to the live Q&A.

Want to access our Congress Avenue Ventures startup deals to see, evaluate, and optionally invest? No cost, no commitment.

Investment Areas of Focus:

Wesley’s investment thesis centers on the power of verticalized AI—software and automation tools designed for high-value, high-complexity sectors. He gravitates toward founders who embed technical insight into sector-specific challenges, creating products with durable competitive advantages and scalable market fit. Beyond software, Wesley is also passionate about robotics and the future of human-machine collaboration, exploring opportunities in autonomous systems, industrial robotics, and next-gen interfaces.

His recent investments reflect this dual thesis: OfferFit, a machine learning platform optimizing customer engagement; Iambic Therapeutics, an AI-driven drug discovery company; Wander, a vertically integrated smart home hospitality platform; Glacier, a robotics company tackling recycling and waste automation; and Arc, which streamlines financial operations for startups. These companies demonstrate Wesley’s conviction that the next wave of transformative innovation will come from deeply integrated, intelligent systems tailored to the needs of specific industries.
