INVITE-ONLY

Mike C's Venture Club

For investors with nothing to prove — mature, practical, curious people who love investing and want sharper judgment through a trusted peer conversation.

Mike C’s Venture Club is a private venture investing club for VC investors who want access to venture deals and an engaging peer room for staying sharp on individual venture opportunities. The club is industry agnostic.

Mike Collins, AV’s CEO, sends the personal invitations, interviews prospective members, curates deals from across AV’s deal flow and leads the monthly deal discussions.

The operating model is simple: Mike curates the deal and runs the room. Stephanie King keeps the membership process and member experience running smoothly.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT

Candid. Humble. Intellectually alive.

Members should read materials, show up when possible, contribute plainly, and make their own invest/pass decisions. The club is not designed for passive observation or status. It works when the room is candid, humble, and intellectually alive.

No member is expected to invest in every deal. The expectation is serious intent, not pressure. The best discussions name the crux: what has to be true for the deal to work, how it could fail, whether the team is the right bet, whether the round and price make sense, and what early signal would tell us we are wrong.

HOW IT WORKS

Nine steps. One rhythm.

  1. Mike sends a personal invitation.
  2. Mike interviews prospective members for fit.
  3. Stephanie manages membership follow-up and onboarding.
  4. Mike curates a venture deal for each monthly discussion.
  5. Full deal materials are sent in advance.
  6. The club meets at 4:00 PM ET on the last Monday of every month, on Zoom.
  7. The club spends 25 minutes with the sponsor — a brief presentation and mostly Q&A — followed by a 25-minute club discussion moderated by Mike.
  8. Members decide individually whether to participate.
  9. AV operations handles the investment process.

Syndication funds invest in a single portfolio company and, unlike diversified funds, do not benefit from the risk mitigation that diversification across multiple investments may provide. As a result, syndication funds carry a higher degree of concentration risk, and investors may lose their entire investment.
