MANCHESTER, NH, JUNE 5, 2024Alumni Ventures (AV), one of the world’s most active venture capital firms, recently announced an investment in UserHub. The company provides subscription management solutions tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). AV invested in a $3.2 million pre-seed round led by 468 Capital, with participation from Mischief Capital, Tokyo Black, GTMfund, Lorimer Ventures, and Nomad Cap.

UserHub is addressing a critical gap in the market by democratizing advanced monetization infrastructure, enabling smaller software companies to compete with industry giants. As purchasing experiences evolve across various industries, many B2B software vendors lack the resources to develop sophisticated billing and user management systems. UserHub steps in to level the playing field, offering a comprehensive solution that empowers these companies to streamline their subscription processes and enhance their competitive edge.

Founder and CEO Patrick Rafferty recently appeared on AV’s Tech Optimist podcast to discuss the impact UserHub is aiming to have on smaller software companies and the B2B SaaS landscape.

See video policy below.

“We’re excited to have firms like Alumni Ventures support our mission of bringing state-of-the-art monetization infrastructure to SMBs,” said Rafferty. “We’re continuing to improve and expand our platform to ensure more SMBs have the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive market.”

UserHub has made significant strides since launching in 2022. The company successfully brought its first product to market by December 2023 and, with its pre-seed funding, is well-positioned to expand its engineering team and enhance the onboarding process for its clients.

“We’re excited to support UserHub in their mission to bring top tier subscription management to the huge pool of companies who use subscription for their main source of revenues,” said AV Founder and CEO Mike Collins, who hosted the conversation with Rafferty on AV’s Tech Optimist podcast. “Their innovative approach not only simplifies subscription management but also enables smaller companies to scale efficiently and effectively. It is the part of the business where every little change can make a huge impact to revenue.”

UserHub is building a user lifecycle management platform (ULM) for B2B SaaS businesses. Companies typically build a complex patchwork of ULM solutions that enable clients or employees to gain access to systems and resources on their network. UserHub integrates and automates the ULM process through a single command center.
