A Note From Larry Warnock (’83)

Howdy Ags,

As many of you already know, I have taken a new role as Managing Partner Emeritus of Ring Ventures, and Rob Adams has joined the team as Managing Partner. All this means is that you now have two tenured investment professionals on board to oversee Ring’s portfolio, both with a strong track record and understanding of the history and future of venture investing.

Rob is new to the Ring team, but not to Alumni Ventures — he also serves as Managing Partner of Congress Avenue Ventures. Rob is a seasoned VC investor and has been running funds since the late 1990s. Prior to Congress Avenue, Rob taught entrepreneurship in the MBA program at the University of Texas at Austin, served as Director of Texas Venture Labs, ran two separate institutional funds for Austin Ventures, and founded and/or financed more than 200 companies.

Rob will manage the day to day and guide the other members of the Ring team. Meanwhile, I will be involved in deploying capital, taking calls from Aggies interested in investing, and managing our relationship with Texas A&M University. I will continue to interact directly with the various organizations at Texas A&M, including the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship (where I serve on the Advisory Board) and the Chancellor’s office.

If you have any questions, please feel free to book a call. Also, don’t miss the opportunity to interact with Rob and I during one of our upcoming webinars. We will provide an overview of venture capital, our portfolio, and how you can join this year’s fund — Ring Ventures Fund 3.

Gig ’em,

Larry Warnock (’83)
