Our Venture Capital Partners In AI Investing
An important factor for Alumni Ventures in putting together our AI Fund portfolio is our network of more than 150 venture capital partners. We are strictly a co-investor, following established lead investors into rounds. That means we don’t negotiate terms or take Board seats, giving us more time to source promising opportunities. It also gives us the latitude to focus on building diverse portfolios while we co-invest with firms that have significant domain experience.

Career Karma: Training for Growing Professionals
Technological advancements are creating jobs that previously did not exist, including app developers, cloud computing specialists, and social media managers. Unfortunately, while these new positions are aiding the economy by creating more jobs, there’s a significant gap between the labor market supply and the business demand for these skills. By 2030, there will be a global shortage of more than 85 million tech workers, representing $8.5 trillion in lost annual revenue.

SkySafe: Safer Skies on the Rise
Drones are helping improve the development and efficiency of various industries, including emergency response, agriculture, logistics, advertising, and more. Recently, a drone was able to save a life in Sweden through the timely delivery of a defibrillator. However, the proliferation of drones has also caused significant security concerns for the commercial and defense sectors. In 2018, an errant drone caused London-Gatwick to shut down for 33 hours — and lose $65 million — due to the potential risk of the drone flying too close to an aircraft.
